600 acres for truck stand on transporters' demand
Awan made the announcement after meeting Sindh PA Speaker Syed Owais Qadir

KARACHI:
A long-standing demand of goods transporters in Sindh has moved closer to reality, with the provincial government beginning implementation of its commitment to provide 600 acres along the Northern Bypass for a dedicated truck stand, according to All Pakistan Goods Transport Ittehad President Malik Shehzad Awan.
Awan made the announcement after meeting Sindh PA Speaker Syed Owais Qadir, where the two sides reviewed progress on commitments made by the govt following nationwide strikes in August and December.
Awan said the allocation of 600 acres for the new truck stand was an important step towards fulfilling a longstanding demand of transporters. He added that the govt had also implemented its agreement regarding four acres of land for parking on KMC and Karachi Water and Sewerage Board premises at the proposed truck stand. However, several other commitments remain pending, he said.
