Art Scene Gallery in Karachi is hosting a two-person exhibition titled In Each Other's Frame, featuring works by artists Adeen Habib and Safwan Sabzwari.
The exhibition brings together two distinct artistic approaches, with colourful and expressive works exploring contemporary social realities. The display has attracted art enthusiasts, with the artists' use of colour, form and visual language drawing attention from visitors.
Speaking to The Express Tribune, Adeen Habib said the response to the exhibition had been encouraging, with visitors from different age groups and backgrounds coming to view the work.
"I am very grateful. The response has been very good," Habib said. She added that the exhibition had attracted university students as well as older visitors, who had shared positive feedback about the artwork.
For Habib, art is also a way of reflecting on society and its contradictions. She said his work often focuses on social themes, including class differences and economic inequality.
"I usually focus on social themes class disparity and economic issues," She said.
Habib said contemporary society often places considerable importance on luxury and material possessions, a subject she tries to explore through his paintings. Rather than presenting these issues in a purely critical manner, she uses colour to introduce a sense of happiness and positivity into his work.
Her paintings therefore bring together two seemingly contrasting ideas the challenges faced by society and the possibility of optimism within it.
The artist said she wanted her work to encourage viewers to think about the society around them and consider how it could be improved.
The exhibition reflects the broader role of artists as observers of their surroundings, using their work to raise questions about social conditions and everyday experiences.
