Spider-Man: Brand New Day is now available to watch at home, with Sony Pictures releasing the Marvel sequel on digital platforms on October 6. The film can be purchased or rented through major digital retailers, including Prime Video, Apple TV, Fandango and Sony Pictures Core.

Prime Video lists the film at $29.99 to buy and $24.99 to rent. A rental gives viewers 30 days to start watching and 48 hours to finish once playback begins. An Amazon Prime subscription is not required, although viewers need an Amazon account.

The home release follows the film’s theatrical debut on July 31. Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker, marking his fourth lead performance as Spider-Man. Zendaya reprises her role as MJ, while Jacob Batalon returns as Ned Leeds. The cast also includes Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, Florence Pugh, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film continues Peter’s story after Spider-Man: No Way Home. Peter is living in a world where people he once knew no longer remember him, while a new threat emerges and his powers begin to change.

Sony Pictures has also confirmed a physical home release for December 15, when Spider-Man: Brand New Day will arrive on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD. Preorders are already available.

The film has become a major box office success. Sony says it crossed $1bn worldwide within six days and became the biggest domestic box office film in history. Page Six reported a $954m domestic total as of October 6, while current reports place its worldwide earnings above $2.4bn.

For viewers wanting to see Holland’s latest Spider-Man outing without returning to cinemas, the digital release provides the first official paid home viewing option. Subscription streaming availability is separate from this digital purchase and rental release, so fans looking for a no-cost viewing option will need to wait for a later announcement.
