'Tulsa King' renewed for season 5 as Sylvester Stallone heads back to New York

'Tulsa King' is renewed for Season 5 as Sylvester Stallone’s Dwight Manfredi returns to New York with new cast members

Tulsa King has been renewed for Season 5 at Paramount+, with the Sylvester Stallone-led crime drama set to move production from Georgia to New York.

The renewal comes ahead of the Tulsa King Season 4 premiere on October 16. The fifth season will follow Stallone’s character, Dwight “The General” Manfredi, as he returns to his New York roots after being sent to Tulsa by his mafia associates.

Stallone’s daughter, Scarlet Rose Stallone, who has appeared as Spencer throughout the first four seasons, has also been promoted to a series regular for Season 5.

Four new actors are joining the Tulsa King cast as series regulars: Erik Palladino, Glenn Fleshler, Anthony Skordi and Nickola Shreli. Palladino is known for I Play Rocky, Fleshler has appeared in Billions, Skordi stars in The Last Frontier, and Shreli is known for Power Book IV: Force.

Plans for a potential fifth season were previously reported in June, when a writers’ room was opened with the intention of moving production to New York. The relocation is also connected to New York’s updated film and television tax incentives, which have made the state a more cost-effective production destination.

Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios produce the series. Terence Winter serves as head writer and executive producer, alongside series creator Taylor Sheridan, Stallone and other producers.

Season 4 will feature returning cast members including Martin Starr, Jay Will, Vincent Piazza, Annabella Sciorra, Frank Grillo, Kevin Pollak, Neal McDonough and Dana Delany. Gretchen Mol is also joining Season 4 as a series regular.

The Tulsa King Season 4 premiere is scheduled for October 16 on Paramount+.
