Diplomats visit ancient Jaulian ruins

HARIPUR:

A high-level diplomatic delegation comprising representatives of Japan, Australia and Canada visited the ancient archaeological site of Jaulian, a prominent UNESCO World Heritage site, to explore the region's rich Buddhist heritage and Gandhara civilisation.

During the visit, the visiting diplomats toured the ancient Jaulian Stupa and adjoining ruins, closely examining archaeological artefacts and architectural remnants dating back centuries.

A field officer of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Directorate of Archaeology and Museums briefed the delegation on the historical significance of the Jaulian Stupa, the evolution of Gandhara civilisation and efforts to preserve evidence of ancient Buddhist monastic life in the Taxila Valley.

The visiting dignitaries expressed keen interest in the site's historical and cultural significance. They inspected the archaeological remains and appreciated the conservation, restoration and maintenance work being carried out by the Archaeology Dept.

A professional journalist should make the effort to independently find verify and develop news rather than simply relying on or reproducing content from another person s social media posts. Journalism is not merely about publishing information. It is about original reporting verification fieldwork and giving proper credit to the source. I sincerely hope that reporters will uphold these basic principles and respect the hard work of those who bring stories and issues to public attention.
