.

LAHORE:
A court on Saturday sent a woman suspected of being involved in a gang rape case lodged by a foreign woman to jail on judicial remand after police stated that her further physical custody was no more required for investigation.
Judicial Magistrate Azhar Mahmood heard the case at the Cantt Courts, where the suspect, Muskan, was presented after the completion of her three-day physical remand.
The police requested the court to send her to jail on 14-day judicial remand, stating that her further interrogation was not required.
After hearing the police request, the court sent the suspect to jail and directed the police to produce her again on October 17.
Meanwhile, the police said three suspects in the case, including the woman, have been arrested, while one remained at large.
DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza said the case had been initially registered against unidentified suspects after the foreign woman's complaint and police teams had been formed to trace those involved.
He said the assaulters had left the woman near Ghazi Interchange in Defence Phase VIII and fled with her purse and mobile phone.
The complainant underwent a medical examination and her and the arrested suspects' samples had been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for analysis.
