PESHAWAR:

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is set to launch its long march toward Islamabad tomorrow (October 4), commencing from Gandi Chowk in Lakki Marwat, under the leadership of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi. The march will depart at 1 PM, with its first stop in Karak, a second stop in Kohat on October 5, and arrival in Peshawar on October 6.

In a remarkable display of financial support, the party collected Rs40 million in donations in a single day for the march. The donation campaign was launched in Peshawar under the supervision of CM Sohail Afridi, with large participation from assembly members, party officials, and workers.

Addressing workers during the campaign, CM Afridi said the donation drive had begun and Rs40 million was raised in one day. "We are grateful to those who contributed. The campaign will continue, and funds will not be an issue for the long march," he said.

He stated that the march would begin from Lakki Marwat on October 4, reach Peshawar by the morning of October 6, and then proceed to Swabi. "This is a matter of life and death, not just Imran Khan or PTI. It is a matter of peace. You must fight this war yourselves. If we cannot make arrangements, you must prepare yourselves. This is a jihad, and stopping the oppressor is also jihad," he said.

He emphasized that the march would remain peaceful, urging participants to come unarmed, with two hands and two feet.

Provincial President Junaid Akbar will lead the convoy from Malakand, while convoys from Hazara and the tribal regions will converge at Swabi. Provincial Information Minister Shafee Jan said all preparations for the long march are complete.
