Noah Kahan has released “Draw You Out”, the first single from The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping soundtrack, ahead of the highly anticipated film’s theatrical release.

The folk-pop singer reunited with Grammy-winning producer and songwriter Aaron Dessner for the track, which was written specifically for and inspired by the upcoming film. The song was recorded at Long Pond Studio in New York as well as studios in Nashville.

Kahan has previously said that writing music specifically for a film was something he had always wanted to do. He described contributing to The Hunger Games franchise as an "insane opportunity", having read Suzanne Collins’ novels and watched the previous film adaptations.

“Draw You Out” was inspired by the story of Haymitch Abernathy and Lenore Dove, with Kahan saying he connected with their tragic yet hopeful story and its themes of purpose, grief and perseverance.

The song will feature on The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (The Album), which is scheduled to arrive on November 13 through MCA. Executive produced by Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb, the album features 29 tracks from artists across different genres, with Kahan’s song currently the only confirmed performer on the album.

The new film is set 24 years before the events of the original The Hunger Games and follows a young Haymitch Abernathy as he is selected for the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell. The Games feature twice as many tributes, forcing Haymitch into an especially dangerous fight for survival.

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping stars Joseph Zada as Haymitch alongside Mckenna Grace, Ralph Fiennes, Jesse Plemons, Glenn Close, Kieran Culkin, Elle Fanning, Maya Hawke, Whitney Peak and Kelvin Harrison Jr. Francis Lawrence returns to direct the film.

The soundtrack will be released one week before the film, with The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping scheduled to arrive in cinemas on November 20, 2026.
