Rs315m counterfeit, pirated goods destroyed
The Directorate of Customs Intellectual Property Rights Enforcement has destroyed counterfeit and stolen goods worth Rs315 million seized during various operations against fake and pirated products.
According to Director IPR Enforcement Customs Muneeza, the seized items were crushed using rollers and burned during a coordinated crackdown against the trade in fake goods. The destroyed goods included counterfeit industrial products, watches, footwear and clothing bearing the names of international brands. Counterfeit cosmetics and pirated textbooks were also disposed of.
