Austrian Jazz Ensemble entertains Karachi audience

Performance part of lead-up to World Culture Festival Karachi 2026

KARACHI:

The Austrian Jazz Ensemble performed in Karachi as part of a collaboration between the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi and the Austrian Embassy, presenting an evening of jazz music.

The performance was part of a series of activities leading up to the World Culture Festival Karachi 2026.

The event was attended by President of the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, Muhammad Ahmad Shah, along with the director of the Goethe-Institute, the Consul General of Japan, the Honorary Consul General of Cote d'Ivoire, the Consul General of South Korea, the Acting Consul General of Italy, diplomatic representatives and other social figures.

The Austrian Jazz Ensemble featured guitarist Robert Pawlik and trumpeter Michaela Rabitsch. The two musicians performed a selection of jazz compositions, which were appreciated by the audience.

The Austrian artist said that it was a great experience to visit Pakistan, adding that the people were very kind and hospitable.

He said that working with Pakistani musicians was a unique experience and expressed hope that he would get another opportunity to visit Pakistan.

Jazz music filled the performance as music lovers enjoyed the Austrian artists' presentation.

According to the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, the third edition of the World Culture Festival will begin on 29 October.

Artists from Pakistan and various countries around the world, including musicians, actors, dancers and visual artists, are expected to participate in the festival.

The World Culture Festival aims to bring artists from different countries together on a single platform and promote cultural exchange through music, theatre, dance and other forms of art.
