Seth MacFarlane’s 'Ted' animated series sets December Peacock debut

'Ted: The Animated Series' will premiere on Peacock December 17, reuniting Seth MacFarlane with the original cast

Peacock has announced the premiere date for Ted: The Animated Series, with the animated comedy set to debut on December 17, 2026.

The upcoming Ted series comes from creator Seth MacFarlane, who returns as the voice of the foul-mouthed teddy bear. The animated show will also reunite MacFarlane with original Ted movie stars Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried and Jessica Barth, who will reprise their respective roles.

The Ted: The Animated Series premiere will feature eight episodes, while additional episodes are scheduled to arrive on Peacock in 2027.

The series is set 12 years after the events of Ted 2. It follows Ted and his longtime friend John as they navigate adulthood, marriage, parenting and their everyday lives. The two characters are now neighbours, each with families and jobs, while continuing to encourage one another’s questionable decisions.

MacFarlane voices Ted, while Wahlberg returns as John. Seyfried voices John’s wife, Sam, and Barth reprises her role as Ted’s wife, Tami-Lynn. The animated series also introduces new characters, with Kyle Mooney playing Apollo and Liz Richman voicing Ruth.

Ted: The Animated Series is created by MacFarlane, Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh, who also serve as executive producers. Corrigan and Walsh are the series’ co-showrunners.

The animation is being produced by Rough Draft Studios, with Universal Television and production companies Fuzzy Door and MRC involved in the series.

The new Peacock series expands the Ted franchise into animation after the two live-action films, Ted and Ted 2, which starred MacFarlane alongside Wahlberg. The first look for the animated series has also been released ahead of its December premiere.
