Ramsha Salahuddin reveals divorce, remarriage

Actor Ramsha Salahuddin has revealed that she went through a divorce last year and has since remarried, opening up about a deeply personal chapter of her life that she had previously kept private.

Taking to Instagram, the actor shared a video with the caption, “some chapters are harder to share than others”, in which she explained why she had finally decided to discuss the matter with her followers. She said she had been hesitant to speak publicly because of the questions, judgement and stigma she feared would follow.

“For a long time, I was scared to talk about this part of my life not because I was ashamed, but because I knew the questions, the judgement, and the stigma that can come with it. Yes, I went through a divorce, and two months back I got married again,” she wrote.

Speaking further in the video, Salahuddin said, “This topic is very sensitive and very personal to me.”

Addressing questions she had received from followers over the years, she wrote, “Many of you wondered why I never shared pictures with my husband and some even asked if I was divorced or a single mother.”

“The truth is that I needed some time to find the courage to share my story in my own way, and in my own time,” she added.

Salahuddin revealed that her divorce took place last year and that only those closest to her were aware of it.

Explaining why she chose not to announce the divorce on social media, the actor said, “I didn’t want to share the news on Instagram because I thought that I’d be judged and wondering what people will say.”

She added, “Today I’m choosing to let go of the fear and embrace this beautiful new chapter of my life.”

Salahuddin also said she believed others could relate to the emotions she experienced while keeping such a personal matter private.

“I think there’s a lot of people who can relate to this and get the same feelings. I’m not the only one. Now, Alhamdulillah, I am married. I got married months back and In Sha Allah, I will share pictures with my husband really soon. My daughter is also really happy,” she concluded.

Salahuddin has built her career in Pakistan’s entertainment industry, appearing in several television projects and becoming known to audiences through her work on screen. Her recent dramas include Nashtar, Khafa, Qarar and Khwaab Nagar Ki Shehzadi.

While she has generally kept her personal life away from the spotlight, her latest Instagram post offered a rare glimpse into her life away from her acting career.
