Israel revokes Dutch envoys status

TEL AVIV/ BENGALURU:

Israel's foreign ministry said on Sunday that it revoked the diplomatic status of Dutch diplomats at the Netherlands' Representative Office in Ramallah in response to the Dutch government's ban on imports of products originating from Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.

The diplomatic status of the Dutch diplomats would expire in seven days, it said. Separately, British Prime Minister Andy Burnham met his Norwegian counterpart Jonas Gahr Store in Liverpool on Sunday, Downing Street said in a statement.

Burnham and Store welcomed an agreement between Denmark, Greenland and the United States, and also discussed the Lunna House strategic defence agreement between Britain and Norway.
