Another citizen killed resisting robbery

KARACHI:

Another citizen was shot dead during a suspected robbery in Karachi on Sunday night, taking the number of people killed in robbery-resistance incidents in the metropolis this year to 56.

The incident took place near Sir Syed Chowk in Scheme 33's Teacher Society within the jurisdiction of Sachal police station.

According to police, unidentified motorcycle-riding suspects opened fire on 35-year-old Naeemullah and fled after snatching his motorcycle.

The victim was shot twice in the head and died on the spot. His body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital by a Chhipa ambulance, where he was identified.

PS Sachal SHO Ijaz Pathan said the victim was originally from Kashmore.

Police said the nature of the attack has raised questions about whether it was solely a robbery.
