Pakistan Post revises postal tariffs

Pakistan Post has revised tariffs for various domestic postal services for walk-in customers, with the new rates set to take effect from October 1. The revised tariffs were approved by the Pakistan Postal Services Management Board at its meeting held on August 12.

Under the new tariff, an ordinary letter weighing up to 20 grams will cost Rs40, up to 50g Rs80, up to 100g Rs100, up to 250g Rs140, up to 500g Rs170, up to one kilogramme Rs250, up to 1.5kg Rs320 and up to 2kg Rs400.

The registration fee for a registered letter has been fixed at Rs40. Consequently, a registered letter weighing up to 20 grams will cost Rs80, up to 50g Rs120, up to 100g Rs140, up to 250g Rs180, up to 500g Rs210, up to one kg Rs290, up to 1.5kg Rs360 and up to 2kg Rs440.

For value-payable letters (VPL), an additional Rs20 value-payable fee will be charged over and above the applicable postage and registration fee. The total charges will be Rs100 for up to 20g, Rs140 for up to 50g, Rs160 for up to 100g, Rs200 for up to 250g, Rs230 for up to 500g, Rs310 for up to 1kg, Rs380 for up to 1.5kg and Rs460 for up to 2kg.

The registration fee for registered parcels has been increased to Rs80. A parcel weighing up to 1kg will cost Rs260, up to 3kg Rs400, up to 5kg Rs540, up to 10kg Rs760, up to 15kg Rs980, up to 20 kg Rs1,210, up to 25 kg Rs1,440 and up to 30kg Rs1,660. Parcels weighing more than 30kg will incur an additional charge of Rs30 per kilogramme.
