Patwari held over bribe allegations

A land record officer and his private assistant was arrested on charges of accepting a bribe during a police raid in Kallar Syedan.

Legal proceedings have been initiated against the arrested individuals. Sources in the Anti-Corruption Punjab said they raided the Circle Dera Khalsa Patwar office located in Chowk Pindori after receiving a complaint alleging that Patwari Faheem had demanded a bribe of Rs500,000 for the registration of a two marla shop.

The complaint was filed by Chowk Pindori Traders' Association President Chaudhry Abbas. The Anti-Corruption officials said that the planned operation to raid the accused's office was conducted after a preliminary inquiry.

They claimed that marked currency notes worth Rs100,000 were recovered from the office premises during the raid. The Anti-Corruption team took Patwari Faheem and his private assistant into custody at the scene.
