19 terrorists killed, subedar martyred in Balochistan IBOs: ISPR

President Zardari, PM Shehbaz laud security forces for successful operations against terrorists, pay tribute to martyr

Security forces killed 19 terrorists during intelligence-based operations in separate engagements in Balochistan, while a subedar embraced martyrdom in an exchange of fire, the military’s media wing said on Wednesday.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), intelligence agencies reported the presence of multiple hideouts of Indian-sponsored Fitna Al-Khawarij and Fitna Al-Hindustan in the general area of Shaban, Quetta district, posing a threat to the local population.

The state uses the term Fitna Al Khwarij for terrorists affiliated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, while Fitna Al Hindustan refers to banned outfits sponsored by India in Balochistan.

“In order to safeguard the local populace and clear the area of terrorists, Security Forces have been conducting a clearance operation in the general area of Shaban, District Quetta, since 21 September 2026,” the ISPR said.

During the operation, security forces effectively engaged and cleared multiple terrorist hideouts.

“Following an intense exchange of fire, 13 Indian-sponsored terrorists have been killed so far,” it said.

Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the cleared hideouts, according to the statement, adding that the clearance operation would continue until the complete neutralisation of the threat in the area.

In separate engagements on September 22 and 23, security forces conducted pre-emptive intelligence-based operations in Kech and Quetta West districts.

“During the operations, troops effectively engaged the terrorists and, following an intense exchange of fire, six terrorists were killed,” the ISPR said.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered during the operations.

During the exchange of fire, Subedar Muhammad Jamil, 39, a resident of Taunsa Sharif, Dera Ghazi Khan district, made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and embraced martyrdom, the statement said.

The ISPR said the counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, would continue at full pace.

“Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies remain committed to eliminating the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” it said.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the security forces for the successful operations against terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan in Quetta and Kech districts of Balochistan.

In their separate statements, they paid tribute to Subedar Muhammad Jamil Shaheed for rendering the supreme sacrifice in defence of the motherland.

The president, in his statement, said the killing of terrorists operating under Indian patronage reflects the professional capabilities of the security forces.

Paying tribute to Subedar Muhammad Jamil Shaheed, President Zardari said, “His sacrifice is a symbol of the security forces' unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and protecting the country.”

In a statement issued by PMO, PM Shehbaz said the elimination of foreign-backed terrorists demonstrated the effective strategy of the security forces. 

He said operations by security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue until the complete eradication of terrorism from the country.

“Foreign-sponsored terrorism will be eliminated at all costs,” he vowed.

PM Shehbaz said the nation stands firmly shoulder to shoulder with its brave security forces and law enforcement agencies in the war against terrorism. He also expressed condolences and solidarity with the family of Subedar Muhammad Jamil Shaheed.

He said Subedar Jamil's sacrifice was a matter of immense pride for the whole nation.

Earlier, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also paid tribute to security forces for killing 19 terrorists during successful operations against terrorists belonging to Fitna Al-Hindustan and Fitna Al-Khawarij in Balochistan.

Lauding the courage and professional capabilities of security forces for killing terrorists, the minister said the operations against elements seeking to undermine peace were continuing with full force in Balochistan.

“The brave sons of the security forces are the pride of the nation,” the interior minister said.

Naqvi also paid tribute to Subedar Muhammad Jamil, who embraced martyrdom while bravely confronting the khawarij.

“Subedar Muhammad Jamil set an example by sacrificing his life today for the peaceful tomorrow of the nation,” he said.
