FIA arrests three human traffickers from Karachi

The alleged traffickers charged Rs0.7 million for each person they smuggled.

KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) claimed on Thursday that three persons allegedly involved in human trafficking were arrested in Karachi, while another attempt to smuggle four people to Russia was also foiled. 

According to the Deputy Director of the FIA Immigration Department Malik Subah Sadiq, the accused Babar Ilyas, Akhtar and Sidiq have been taken into custody from the airport on charges of human trafficking.

The alleged traffickers charges Rs0.7 million for each person they smuggled. They also confessed that they would lure people with jobs in foreign countries.

The accused have been shifted to FIA’s anti-Human Smuggling Cell for further investigations.

Earlier on Wednesday, police officials in Multan arrested two members of a human trafficking gang for abducting women and selling them off to bidders.
