App launched for cotton field workers

LAHORE:

A mobile application has been launched for helping agricultural workers and farmers in cotton-producing areas.

The "Kapas Ki Pukar" application has been developed for workers engaged in cotton fields and allows them to submit complaints concerning farm owners, working conditions and relevant district authorities.

The Punjab Labour and Human Resources Department said the application was designed particularly to help workers in remote areas.

Punjab Labour and Human Resources Minister Muhammad Minsahullah Butt said the use of technology to empower workers and establish an effective mechanism for the timely resolution of their complaints was necessary.
