Violence, unrest enemies of prosperity, says CM

Importance of peace, tolerance, harmony stressed

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that those who resort to violence and unrest are enemies of the development and prosperity of the country.

In her message on the International Day of Peace, she paid tribute to the courage and sacrifices of officers and personnel of the Pakistan Armed Forces deployed to guard the borders and maintain peace.

She also appreciated the services of police and other security forces that remain actively engaged round the clock to maintain law and order across Punjab.

CM Maryam Nawaz paid rich tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for peace and saluted the Ghazis for their services and sacrifices.

The chief minister said the day reminded everyone of the resolve to uphold tolerance and peaceful coexistence. "Sustainable peace is indispensable for the development and progress of Pakistan," she said, adding that peace was a fundamental requirement for development and prosperity.

"Peace brings forth the flowers of prosperity and spreads happiness everywhere," she said.

The chief minister said every individual would have to play a positive and meaningful role in promoting peace in society.

She said the Punjab government was committed to promoting peace, tolerance and interfaith harmony.

"Those who choose the path of violence and unrest are enemies of the development and prosperity of Pakistan," CM Maryam Nawaz said.

She said peace was not merely the absence of war; rather, it meant living with justice, love and respect.

She prayed for lasting peace and prosperity everywhere in Pakistan and around the world.
