Strict screening to curb human smuggling ordered
FIA officials asked to ensure genuine passengers do not face difficulties

KARACHI:
FIA Karachi Zone Director Munazzar Mehdi has directed immigration officials to maintain strict surveillance and effective screening to prevent the use of suspicious travel documents, human smuggling, illegal immigration and other related crimes.
According to an FIA spokesperson, Mehdi visited Jinnah International Airport Karachi and reviewed the responsibilities of immigration staff and various operational matters.
During his visit, he met FIA immigration officers and personnel and directed them to ensure passenger facilitation, effective immigration screening and full compliance with legal requirements.
He instructed officials to continue strict monitoring and thorough screening to prevent suspicious travel documents, human smuggling, illegal immigration and other related offences, while ensuring that genuine passengers do not face unnecessary difficulties.
The FIA Karachi Zone director also reviewed the performance of staff and their handling of official duties, directing them to maintain professionalism, transparency and courteous behaviour towards passengers.
During the visit, Mehdi inspected immigration counters and other relevant areas and reviewed the ongoing operations and the process of immigration clearance for passengers.
