Cop suspended for 'harassing' women

KARACHI:

A police officer, posted at Aziz Bhatti police station, has been suspended for allegedly stopping women travelling in a rickshaw, harassing them and asking them to be befriends with him.

A video recorded by one of the women on her mobile phone went viral on social media, prompting SSP District East Zubair Nazir Sheikh to take notice of the incident and suspend the officer, identified as Imran.

The SSP said that strict departmental action would be taken against the suspended officer.

SHO Aziz Bhatti Adnan Bukhari said senior police officials took notice after the video went viral and ordered the immediate suspension of Imran.
