Minor girl goes missing from Sindh Govt Hospital

KARACHI:

A three-year-old girl went missing from Sindh Government Hospital in Sharifabad, prompting police to launch a search operation and review CCTV footage from the hospital and surrounding areas.

According to district central police, the missing girl, identified as 3-year-old Ayesha, had visited the hospital with her mother, maternal grandmother and four-year-old elder sister for a medical check-up.

Police said Ayesha's mother had travelled from Tando Adam to visit her mother in Gharibabad Qureshi Mohalla along with her two daughters, Ayesha and four-year-old Fatima. As the children were unwell, the family went to Sindh Government Hospital Sharifabad to seek medical assistance.

According to police sources, Ayesha's mother went to the gynaecology ward while her grandmother, Zareena, took both girls to a general physician. After the doctor prescribed medicines, Zareena went to the pharmacy to purchase them, with both girls accompanying her.

While waiting in the queue at the pharmacy, Zareena noticed that Ayesha had gone missing when she turned back after purchasing the medicines. The family searched the hospital and surrounding areas but could not locate her.

Sharifabad police registered a case on the complaint of Zareena and obtained CCTV footage from cameras installed inside and outside the hospital. Police are making efforts to trace the missing girl.

Police have appealed to the public to immediately contact Sharifabad police or Madadgar 15 if they have any information about Ayesha's whereabouts.
