Drug peddler gets nine years term

A local court on Saturday sentenced a drug peddler to nine years in prison and ordered him to pay a fine of Rs100,000.
According to a police spokesman, the Station House Officer (SHO) of City Alipur Police Station arrested the accused, Muhammad Rashid, after conducting an investigation.
The accused was booked in Case No.1044/25 under Section 9-C of the Control of Narcotic Substances Act at City Alipur Police Station for possession of narcotics.
Following the trial, Civil Judge Ashrat Abbad, Alipur found the accused guilty and awarded him nine years in jail along with a fine of Rs100,000.
