SHO among five cops suspended 'over bribe'

GUJRAT:
Gujrat police have suspended five officials, including the Station House Officer (SHO) of Kakarali Police Station, over allegations of receiving a Rs130,000 bribe, while an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) facing a separate bribery case has been dismissed from service.
The action was taken on the directions of District Police Officer (DPO) Faisal Shehzad as part of the department's accountability drive against alleged corruption and misconduct.
According to a police spokesperson, Inspector Fayyaz Ahmed, SHO Kakarali, Head Constable Akhtar Nawaz and Constables Tabassum Baig, Maratab Ali and Waqar Anjum have been suspended.
