Police investigate 'rape' of teen girl

SAKRAND:

The police have launched an investigation into the alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl in Asghar Colony, within the jurisdiction of Sakrand police station.

Victim's mother, a resident of Hala-Bhanot, said that her daughter, S***, had come to Asghar Colony to visit her uncles. She was reportedly outside the house when a man identified as Zain Marri allegedly took her by force to a nearby banana field, sexually assaulted her and fled the scene.

Following the incident, the girl's family approached Sakrand police station.

Police sent the girl for a medical examination and began raids at various locations to arrest the alleged suspect. One person has reportedly been taken into custody. Police said further legal action would be taken in light of the medical report.
