NLC, Railways to strengthen logistics
Sign cooperation framework to explore business avenues, enhance freight linkages

ISLAMABAD:
National Logistics Corporation (NLC) and the Railways Division have signed a strategic framework of cooperation to strengthen Pakistan's multimodal transportation and logistics network.
Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi witnessed the signing of the framework at a ceremony attended by senior officials of NLC and Pakistan Railways. The framework establishes a broad platform for collaboration between the two organisations to explore new business opportunities, enhance freight connectivity and develop integrated logistics solutions in support of the national economy.
The cooperation focuses on promoting efficient and commercially viable logistics services by combining the strengths and capabilities of NLC and Pakistan Railways. It also envisages collaboration in logistics infrastructure, freight transportation and development of integrated supply-chain solutions.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister for railways highlighted the longstanding cooperation between the two organisations and expressed confidence that the framework would further facilitate and enhance freight transportation across Pakistan. He also appreciated the valuable contributions of NLC to national development. It is pertinent to mention that NLC and Pakistan Railways are already working on the development of the Multimodal Logistics Park and Dedicated Freight Corridor in Karachi. Furthermore, NLC is one of the largest customers of freight trains of Pakistan Railways.
