Ex-CM Elahi gets one-day exemption in FIA case

. A Special Central Court on Tuesday granted former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi a one-day exemption from personal appearance in a money laundering case registered by the FIA.

The court also sought arguments on Elahi's acquittal plea at the next hearing and adjourned further proceedings until November 17.

The exemption was granted after Elahi's counsel submitted that his client was unwell and requested that he be excused from appearing before the court for one day. The FIA has already submitted its challan (investigation report) in the case against Elahi and other accused persons.
