Rhea Seehorn brought bold red glamour to Emmy night while celebrating first career win

Rhea Seehorn may have found an unexpected Emmy tradition after keeping the recent red streak among Drama Lead Actress winners alive.

The Pluribus star arrived at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles wearing a striking red silk draped gown by Louis Vuitton, paired with Swarovski jewellery. Later that evening, she collected her first Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her performance as Carol Sturka in Apple TV’s science fiction drama.

Her victory also caught attention because red has featured prominently in recent winning looks for the category. Sarah Snook wore a red Vivienne Westwood gown when she won for Succession at the delayed 2023 ceremony held in January 2024. Anna Sawai followed in 2024, accepting her Emmy for Shōgun in a red Vera Wang dress designed as an homage to her character Lady Mariko.

Britt Lower then won the award in 2025 for Severance. Her custom Calvin Klein gown was officially described as burnt copper or spiced orange, although the Los Angeles Times noted that the previous two winners had worn red. Other fashion coverage also characterised Lower’s look as a red toned or orange red shade, adding another chapter to the colour connection.

Seehorn’s 2026 victory marked an especially significant moment after she received three previous Emmy nominations for Better Call Saul and another nomination for Cooper’s Bar. The Television Academy confirms that her win for Pluribus is her first Emmy.

Her red gown therefore became part of a memorable awards night on two fronts: Seehorn finally secured her long awaited acting trophy, while her fashion choice continued an increasingly recognisable colour pattern surrounding the Drama Lead Actress winner.
