126,284 people trained as life savers in a day

LAHORE:

The Punjab Emergency Service has trained 126,284 citizens across the province as life savers in a day, imparting critical skills including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and bleeding control.

A spokesperson stated on Sunday that the training was conducted under the Pak Life Saver Programme on World First Aid Day.

Provincial Secretary Dr Rizwan Nasir commended the education and health departments for their cooperation on the occasion

Hands-on training was provided to citizens across all districts to enable them to respond effectively during emergencies before professional rescuers arrive.

Layyah district topped the province with 10,183 citizens trained, followed by Multan with 6,244, Khanewal 6,011, Faisalabad 5,700 and Rahim Yar

Khan 4,910.

Dr Nasir said citizens could register for free training or access online modules under the programme.
