Zendaya has officially returned to the pixie cut, debuting her shortest hairstyle in recent memory at a Prada event during New York Fashion Week.

The actor showed off the dramatic transformation at the Prada Paradoxe pop-up party, trading the long, goddess-inspired hair she wore throughout The Odyssey press tour for a closely cropped style. Her new pixie features short sides and back, with soft curls styled high on the crown for a light and romantic finish.

The new look marks another step in Zendaya's recent experimentation with shorter hairstyles. Around Christmas last year, she first moved towards the style with a curly bob-pixie hybrid before later growing it into a longer bixie. This time, she has fully committed to the pixie cut.

The transformation is a striking contrast to the hair Zendaya wore while promoting Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. During the film's extensive press tour, she embraced waist-length waves and extensions that complemented the dramatic gowns and flowing silhouettes she wore for premieres and appearances.

While those looks leaned into the film's Greek mythology, her new hairstyle has a softer and more playful feel. Zendaya paired the pixie with a bottle-green sweater layered over a pink button-down and a brown slip skirt decorated with chartreuse details for the Prada event.

Her beauty look followed the same romantic direction. Makeup artist Ernesto Casillas used pastel shades from Prada Beauty, including lavender tones on the eyes and Cherry blush across Zendaya's cheeks and the bridge of her nose. He described the look as the "wisteria look."

The pixie also proved to be surprisingly versatile later in the evening. Zendaya was spotted heading to dinner in New York with her Euphoria co-stars Hunter Schafer and Alexa Demie, wearing a much more casual outfit consisting of a red sweater, straight-leg white jeans and black patent loafers.

With the more relaxed styling, the cropped hair took on an entirely different appearance. The tousled curls framed her face while the closely cut nape became more visible, demonstrating how easily the hairstyle can shift between polished fashion-week glamour and casual street style.

Zendaya's latest haircut also comes after months of dramatic beauty transformations tied to her biggest projects. Her long hair became a defining part of The Odyssey promotional campaign, where she leaned heavily into the film's mythological aesthetic.

Now, with that chapter seemingly behind her, the pixie offers a completely different direction as Zendaya enters another phase of her career. With Fashion Month only beginning, the new cut could also give her plenty of opportunities to experiment with different looks in the weeks ahead.

For an actor who has repeatedly moved between bobs, lobs, bixies and long extensions, Zendaya's latest transformation proves once again that she is willing to make a dramatic change when the moment calls for it.
