Goods transporters raise freight rates by 15%

Goods transporters have increased freight rates by 15% following a sharp rise in diesel prices, raising concerns about higher prices of essential commodities.

The Pakistan Goods Transporters Association Lahore announced the decision in a statement following an emergency meeting held on September 10.

According to the transporters, diesel has reached Rs392.62 per litre, significantly increasing operating costs and putting additional financial pressure on the goods transportation sector.

They said the increase in freight rates had become necessary to offset the impact of rising fuel costs.
