Health dept delegates regional powers

PESHAWAR:

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has further clarified the powers and responsibilities of Regional Directors General Health Services, assigning them authority to deal with all service-related matters of employees in BPS-01 to BPS-16 at the regional level.

According to a notification issued by the department, all administrative and service matters concerning employees in the relevant districts will be processed exclusively through the offices of the respective Regional Directors General. The regional directors have also been tasked with supervising the administrative affairs of primary and secondary healthcare facilities in their respective regions.

The Regional Directors will handle transfers, postings and leave matters of BPS-01 to BPS-16 employees. They will also submit performance-based recommendations to the Health Department regarding the posting and transfer of District Health Officers (DHOs) and Medical Superintendents (MSs).

Under the notification, Regional Directors have also been assigned the duties of Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) for their offices.

Cases concerning the appointment of officers in BPS-17 and above will be forwarded to the Director General Health Services.
