FAISALABAD:

The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has prepared a list of officers and employees from 18 government departments in Faisalabad who are allegedly involved in corrupt practices, with action against the suspected officials expected to begin next week, an ACE official said.

A senior ACE official, speaking to the media on condition of anonymity, said two senior officials of the Municipal Corporation Faisalabad had also come under the department's scrutiny over alleged corruption.

The official said the newly appointed Director of ACE Faisalabad, Khalid Masood Farooqa, had announced that he would begin the accountability process from within his own department.

According to the official, Farooqa had issued a warning to officers and employees of ACE against corruption and misconduct and initiated action against those allegedly involved in such practices.

The ACE official said strict action was expected against suspected corrupt elements in 18 government departments and organisations in Faisalabad.

The official said the Revenue and Land Department was among the departments facing particular scrutiny, followed by the Police and other departments. The ACE official said the department would continue investigating allegations of corruption and take action in accordance with the law against officials found responsible following due process.
