CM asks MPAs to ensure transparency in projects
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed members of the provincial assembly (MPAs) to closely monitor the quality and transparency of development projects in their areas.
She was speaking to MPAs from Sahiwal district who discussed various political and development-related matters with her in detail. They included Wilayat Shah, Qasim Nadeem, Arshad Malik, Nadeem Aslam Lodhi, Rana Riaz Ahmed and Muhammad Hanif.
CM Maryam Nawaz announced that 14 more electric buses would soon be provided for Sahiwal. She directed the MPAs to keep a close watch on the development projects under way in the city.
According to a statement, the MPAs termed the beautification of Sahiwal city a historic initiative. They also praised the development projects in cities, towns as well as villages.
The MPAs appreciated an initiative to establish 10 Nawaz Sharif Schools of Eminence in Sahiwal division and expressed gratitude for sewerage and drainage projects.
They said that, for the first time, special focus was being placed on addressing the genuine problems of the people.
The CM said the schools of eminence would provide equal opportunities for children from poor and affluent families and the standard of the institutions would be no less than that of any leading private school.
