Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan has opened up about one wish that remained unfulfilled at 84: learning to play music. The actor’s admission came during an upcoming episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18, when content creator Kritagya invited him to play a round of “This or That”.
When asked whether he would rather relive a day from his past or live through an entirely new one, Bachchan said his life had held too many memorable moments for him to settle on just one.
He then turned to a subject he described as a genuine regret. Bachchan said he held deep admiration for people who could sing or play instruments such as the sitar, and revealed that he had collected musical instruments at home over the years, always intending to eventually learn them.
“I never learned music, although I always wished to. I feel a little sad when I hear people sing so beautifully or play instruments like the sitar,” Bachchan said. “I wonder how they can sing so well. I never learned any of this.”
The actor went on to describe how he had kept those instruments at home in anticipation of the day he would finally sit down and learn.
“I have kept all the musical instruments at home, hoping that one day I will learn. I even put garlands on them, thinking that day will come,” he said. “Now I am 84 years old, and I still haven't learned. That makes me very sad.”
