Sindh PA panel reviews anti-drug crackdown

KARACHI:
A meeting of the Sindh Assembly's Standing Committee on Home Affairs was held with Faryal Talpur in the chair. Ongoing action against narcotics across the province and the future strategy to curb drug trafficking came under review in detail.
According to a spokesperson for the Sindh home minister, the committee was briefed on progress under area-wise action plans against narcotics. It was also informed about action taken against the sale of drugs around educational institutions.
Faryal Talpur made it clear that the sale and use of drugs around educational institutions would not be tolerated.
"Protecting the younger generation from the menace of drugs is the top priority of the government and relevant institutions," she said.
The home minister informed the meeting that an effective crackdown was being carried out against narcotics in line with modern requirements.
