Punjab Walled Cities Authority to launch tourism season

History by Night at Lahore Fort to return on September 12

The Punjab Walled Cities and Heritage Areas Authority (PWCA) will launch its 2026 tourism season on September 12, bringing back its popular History by Night tour at Lahore Fort with new performances and attractions.

The first tour of the new season will be held on Saturday, September 12.

Initially, History by Night will be organised every Saturday evening, with the schedule likely to be expanded to additional days depending on public response and demand.

Other popular cultural and heritage tours will also resume, including Chandni Raatain at Shalimar Gardens, the Khilwat Khana Tour, Haveli Tour, Yatra and other special heritage experiences.

The PWCA will also arrange cultural activities at historic sites, including Qawwali Nights, Sufi Nights, artisans' workshops, seminars and other public events.

PWCA Director General Najamul Saqib said the authority was committed to making the new tourism season more engaging and accessible for citizens and visitors.

He said historic sites were not merely buildings but living representations of the region's history, culture and identity.

"The new season will bring together history, heritage, music, arts and traditional crafts to offer visitors a distinctive experience," he said.

He added that the PWCA would continue its efforts to promote tourism, preserve Punjab's heritage and strengthen public interest in the province's historic sites.
