Suspected robber killed in CCD encounter

LAHORE:

A suspected robber was killed in an armed encounter with a Crime Control Department (CCD) Nawankot team in Badami Bagh. According to the FIR, CCD officials raided a house in Kharkhar Pind after receiving information that proclaimed offender Tanveer and his accomplices were hiding there.

The suspects allegedly opened fire on the police despite warnings to surrender. During the exchange of fire, suspect Faisal Ali was allegedly injured by firing from his accomplices and fell from the roof of the third-floor of the building.

He was shifted to a hospital, where he later died. The police said Tanveer, Imran and four unidentified accomplices had escaped amid darkness. According to police record, Faisal was wanted in at least 16 robbery cases. The police shifted the body to a morgue and launched a search for the escaped suspects.
