LHC judge steps aside from AT bill case

LAHORE:
Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Muhammad Amjad Pervaiz on Tuesday recused himself from hearing a petition challenging the Anti-Terrorism (Amendment) Bill 2026 passed by the Punjab Assembly.
The judge directed that the case file be placed before the LHC chief justice for fixing before another bench for hearing.
He declined to proceed with the petition, observing that he had been serving as Punjab advocate general when the bill was being drafted.
Advocate Yousaf Wain had challenged the legal validity of the Anti-Terrorism (Amendment) Bill 2026.
