Ariana Grande surprise-releases 'Petal' (The Complete Live Album) exclusively on iTunes

Ariana Grande has surprised fans with the release of Petal (The Complete Live Album), a new live collection featuring performances of songs from her latest studio album Petal.

The singer announced the surprise release on September 8, making the album available exclusively through iTunes. The collection features live versions of all 12 tracks from Petal, which was released on July 31.

The live album also includes a special version of Hate That I Made You Love Me, the lead single from Petal, which was recorded during a rehearsal for Grande's Eternal Sunshine tour.

While the original Petal contains 13 songs, the new live release focuses on 12 tracks performed live, alongside the rehearsal recording of Hate That I Made You Love Me. Apple Music lists the digital release at $9.99 through the iTunes Store.

The surprise release comes shortly after Grande completed her Eternal Sunshine tour with a 10-night run at London's O2 Arena. The tour concluded on September 1 following 41 performances across the US, Canada and the UK.

Grande became emotional during the final London show as she thanked fans for their support, describing the tour as one of the most beautiful and extraordinary experiences of her life.

The release of the live album also arrives as Grande prepares to take a step back from public visibility. She has previously said she plans to have an extended break from the spotlight following the conclusion of the tour, citing the ongoing scrutiny surrounding her public life.

With Petal (The Complete Live Album), Grande has given fans a new way to experience her latest era while she begins that planned period away from the public eye.
