LAHORE: A petition was filed in the Lahore High Court on Wednesday seeking the formation of a judicial commission to probe the school bus accident in Kallar Kahar in which 37 people and scores were injured. Petitioner Muhammad Azhar Siddique submitted in his petition that the commission be directed to determine which government officials were responsible for allowing an unfit bus on the road. He said the commission should also be asked to recommend necessary amendments in the relevant law to ensure proper examination of vehicles. He also requested the court that until a decision was reached in the case all vehicles failing to meet the criteria laid down in the Punjab Motor Vehicle Ordinance of 1965, read with Motor Vehicle Rule of 1969 should be banned under an interim order.
