MQM asks PPP to act like a truly national party

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader and Federal Minister for Education Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has said that Pakistan is the only entity that cannot be divided, while all other arrangements are administrative units.

He said the constitution had vested the federal government with the authority to create new provinces. He expressed these views while addressing a Defence Day ceremony at the Government Girls Primary and Secondary School Clayton in Jamshed Town.

Dr Siddiqui further said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) should adopt the approach of a national party. "If the PPP protests against the creation of administrative units and provinces in Sindh, it should adopt the same stance in Punjab as well," he said.

The federal minister said Karachi was home to people who respected the country's independence. He described Pakistan as a changing country and said female students had an important role to play in this transformation, as women make up half of the country's population.

He said education was Pakistan's heritage and that the country served as a model for the Ummah. He urged the younger generation to contribute to the country's development through education.

Meanwhile, despite the federal education minister's visit, sewage water remained accumulated in front of the main gate of the school. The road outside the school was also in extremely poor condition, allegedly due to the inefficiency of the Water and Sewerage Corporation, causing serious difficulties for students, teachers, pedestrians and motorcyclists.
