Nicola Peltz honours Brooklyn Beckham while accepting Venice Rising Star award

Nicola Peltz thanked Brooklyn Beckham for his support while accepting Rising Star award at Venice Film Festival

Nicola Peltz thanked her husband Brooklyn Beckham for supporting her as she accepted the Rising Star award at the 25th Kinéo Awards during the Venice Film Festival.

The actress received the honour on September 5 for her role in the upcoming indie drama Prima, in which she stars alongside Faye Dunaway as a ballerina. Dunaway also received a lifetime achievement honour at the ceremony.

During her acceptance speech, Peltz admitted she was more comfortable acting than addressing an audience.

“Hi everyone. I am normally more comfortable playing a character as an actor than standing in front of an audience, so please bear with me.

“Thank you so much for this immense honour. To receive an award at the Venice Film Festival is something I will carry with me for the rest of my career.”

Peltz then thanked Dunaway, describing her as an “inspiration”, before acknowledging her family and husband.

“My family are my everything. My mum, dad, [brothers] Diesel and Brad and Brooklyn thank you. You always believe in me.

“To have your support is the reason I can reach to the stars in the first place.”

Brooklyn was present as Peltz accepted the award, accompanying her to the podium and holding her arm.

The couple later appeared together on the red carpet ahead of the It Will Happen Tonight screening at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival. Brooklyn kissed Peltz on the cheek while posing with her, while Peltz wore a cobalt blue Balenciaga couture gown.

Their appearances came amid continued attention surrounding Brooklyn’s strained relationship with his parents David and Victoria Beckham and siblings Cruz, Romeo and Harper.
