Susan Sarandon says she is still losing film roles over Palestine support

Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon revealed that she continues to face career repercussions in Hollywood for her vocal support of Palestine, disclosing that projects are still being pulled from her due to pressure from talent agencies.

Speaking at a press event on September 06, 2026, the screen veteran shared that certain industry gatekeepers actively instruct producers against hiring her, demonstrating the persistent influence of the Hollywood establishment.

Sarandon, who was dropped by her major agency UTA in late 2023 after speaking at a pro-Palestinian rally and calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, noted that while corporate leadership remains rigid, public perception has fundamentally shifted.

She highlighted that people internationally have gained a clearer understanding of Palestinian history, as well as the political and financial ties between the United States and Israel.

Despite facing ongoing professional blacklisting in mainstream US cinema, Sarandon expressed gratitude for finding support among independent filmmakers and international audiences. Emphasising that she has found a community outside of traditional Hollywood channels, she affirmed that she remains content focusing on independent projects abroad.
