Acid attack: suspect arrested from Punjab

The Clifton investigation police have arrested a suspect from Punjab for allegedly throwing acid on a domestic worker near the Upper Gizri Filter Plant.
Sindh chief minister and home minister had taken notice of the acid attack and sought a report from senior police officials.
The incident took place on Thursday, when domestic worker Mumtaz suffered burn injuries after an unidentified man allegedly threw acid on her near a street close to the Upper Gizri Filter Plant.
The victim told the police, she did not know the person who threw acid at her but would be able to identify him if she saw him again.
According to the initial investigation, the suspect had been standing near the staircase of a residential building in the Upper Gizri area when he allegedly threw acid at the woman before fleeing the scene on foot. Police also recovered a bottle believed to have contained acid from the scene.
The suspect, identified as Hussain Bakhsh, was arrested in Punjab.
