Man allegedly axes wife to death

MAILSI:

A woman was allegedly killed by her husband following a domestic dispute in a village near Mailsi, police said.

The incident occurred in Mouza Sandhal, where the woman, identified as Tehmina Bibi, was allegedly attacked by her husband, Muhammad Imran Bhatti, during a domestic dispute.

Police said the suspect fled the scene following the incident. According to police and local sources, Bhatti allegedly attacked his wife with an axe, resulting in her death.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were being investigated.

Upon receiving information, Mailsi DSP Rao Tariq Pervez and Metrow police SHO Zubair Sindhu, along with other personnel, reached the scene.

Police inspected the crime scene and took the woman's body into custody before shifting it to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for necessary medico-legal formalities.

According to local sources, Tehmina was the mother of four children, including two sons, Khurram and Sufyan, and two daughters, Ayesha Bibi and Riffat Bibi.

Sources also said that she was pregnant at the time of the incident.
