Ariana Grande plans to promote 'Focker-in-Law' before taking a break from public-facing work after her tour ends

Ariana Grande is expected to continue promoting her upcoming comedy film Focker-in-Law before taking a planned break from public-facing work, according to a source cited by PEOPLE.

The singer and actress recently concluded her 41-show Eternal Sunshine Tour, which ended on Sept. 1 at London’s O2 Arena. Despite her plans to step back from public appearances, Grande remains committed to supporting Focker-in-Law, which is scheduled to hit cinemas on Nov. 25.

“She is very proud of the film,” the source said, adding that Grande will also continue supporting her brand work during her break.

Focker-in-Law is the fourth instalment in the comedy franchise that began with 2000’s Meet the Parents. The upcoming film brings back Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Blythe Danner and Teri Polo, while Grande joins the cast alongside Skyler Gisondo and Beanie Feldstein.

Grande, 33, previously announced plans to “take a step back from visibility” after completing her tour. Her representative said in August that she was looking forward to taking a “much-deserved break” from public-facing work and appearances following the scrutiny that comes with her career.

The Wicked star also recently exited the planned West End revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George, in which she was set to appear alongside her Wicked costar Jonathan Bailey.

With Focker-in-Law arriving later this year, Grande is expected to remain involved in the film’s promotional campaign before beginning her planned period away from the spotlight.
