David Oyelowo and Nate Parker expand Mansa Studios with TikTok microdramas
Mansa Studios, founded by David Oyelowo and Nate Parker, is launching three original microdramas on TikTok

David Oyelowo and Nate Parker’s Mansa Studios is expanding into TikTok with three original microdrama series launching through the platform’s TikTok Minis.
The slate includes My Twin Sister Stole My Man, a relationship drama centred on betrayal, identity and complicated family connections. The company is also releasing I Married the King of the Streets, a romance involving love, loyalty and power in a dangerous world, and The Love Contract, which follows a contractual relationship that gradually develops into something more meaningful.
The launches follow months of collaboration between Mansa Studios and TikTok. They mark the first time the entertainment company has released shows directly on the platform.
“Mansa was created to ensure that culturally rich stories can reach audiences wherever they are,” Oyelowo said. He added that the company is adapting to changing viewing habits by exploring new formats and platforms while creating opportunities for diverse storytellers and talent.
Parker, who serves as Mansa’s co-founder and CEO, said TikTok has become an important platform for entertainment discovery. He described the microdramas as part of the company’s effort to expand mobile-first storytelling and reach audiences with culturally relevant projects.
Mansa Studios has increased its investment in vertical entertainment throughout 2026. Earlier this year, the company announced a slate of 10 original microdrama series spanning romance, drama and other genres.
Founded by Oyelowo and Parker, Mansa Studios focuses on developing and distributing stories centred on Black audiences and talent. The company initially launched as an ad-supported streaming platform and continues to develop television and film projects alongside its microdrama slate.
Oyelowo is known for playing Martin Luther King Jr. in Selma, while Parker wrote, directed and starred in The Birth of a Nation.
