Cole Hauser and Taylor Sheridan’s reported feud heats up again

Cole Hauser and Taylor Sheridan reportedly clashed again on 'Dutton Ranch' as tensions continue behind the scenes

Cole Hauser and Taylor Sheridan have reportedly experienced repeated tensions behind the scenes of Dutton Ranch, with one disagreement allegedly coming close to becoming physical.

According to the Daily Mail, sources claim Hauser and Sheridan have clashed over the years, including during their work on the Yellowstone universe. The report describes the actor and showrunner as having contrasting personalities, with Hauser associated with California and Sheridan with Texas.

The reported tensions follow a history of disagreements between the pair. Hauser previously said that he and Sheridan fought the second time they met before eventually developing a friendship.

Their professional relationship also became the subject of a legal dispute in 2023. Sheridan sued Hauser over their respective cowboy coffee brands, claiming Hauser’s Free Rein branding was too similar to his Bosque Ranch company. The case was privately settled in 2024.

More recently, Hauser discussed Sheridan’s limited involvement during the first season of Dutton Ranch. The actor said the production was challenging because Sheridan was not around as much. According to the Daily Mail, those comments reportedly caused further frustration behind the scenes.

Hauser has also spoken about the difficulties of filming Dutton Ranch in North Texas, including the extreme heat. The actor has said the conditions made it difficult to maintain the weight he typically gains to play Rip Wheeler.

Despite the reported disagreements, sources say Hauser continues to respect Sheridan and recognises the importance of Yellowstone to his career. His portrayal of Rip Wheeler has become one of his most recognised roles.

The reports come as the Yellowstone franchise continues to expand, with Dutton Ranch remaining part of Sheridan’s growing television universe.
